Pak Putra is a famous restaurant in Malacca serving Tandoori Chicken and Nan as well as other delicious Indian dishes. Not mentioned in Lonely Planet, so this place is frequented mostly by locals or those that know somebody in Malacca. Conveniently located close to Jonker walk, but away from the crowd and traffic.

They have the normal range of Nan to go with the Tandoori Chicken. You can choose from plain, cheese, garlic, a mixture of any (but of course it will be more expensive) and the interesting Kashmiri Nan. The nan comes with the delicious dahl. The chicken comes with delicious pudina (everything seems to be delicious here). Try not to order too much chicken and save the stomach for some of its excellent side dishes.

Among our favourite side dishes are spinach with cheese, aloo ghobi (potato, cauliflower and green pea mix) and aloo bindi (potato + lady's finger mix). However, the serving is quite big. Unless you go in a large group, I don't think you can have the space in your stomach to try all of them.

I have never ordered them before, but I believe they also serve the typical goreng stuff e.g. mee goreng.

Location: It is located a small road parallel to Jalan Kota Laksamana. One end of Jalan Kota Laksama connects to Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. The other end connects to Jalan Syed Abdul Aziz, which is the continuation of Jalan Ong Kim Wee towards Melaka Raya. From Jonker Walk, it is a short walk, but you will need to find the shortcut that cuts through the shop houses along Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock. The nearest landmark is the Wet Market.
